As i said in an earlier post i was honoured and privileged to be booked to cover the wedding of a long lost school friend just after Christmas.
Amanda went to the same schools as me from the age of 5 to 16 but i hadn't seen her until she came with Mick to view my work in January last year.
I was very excited driving up the M1 to Kilworth Hall to cover their wedding. It was very cold, wet and foggy but at last the roads were clear of snow for my trip.
The venue was absolutely stunning with Christmas trees in every direction!
Once i had completed my recee, i had a quick coffee with my good friend and amazing Harpist, Fiona Hosford before starting the photography.
What can i say, the venue had it all. The massive orangery meant i actually had decent light to cover the ceremony!
For the first time with my D3s i was able to shoot at a lowly 400iso for a while, but once we moved on to the drinks reception and then the shots of Amanda and Mick, the camera really came into its own again.
I have always been a huge fan of low light shooting and also of using mirrors and reflections, so Kilworth must have been made for me!
It was great to be invited to sit on a table with Amanda's family during the meal and catch up about old times. Thank you guys for making me so welcome!
Anyway, here is a sneak preview of the images. I have chosen to show a few more stylised pictures on this post than normal as i had a bit of a mirror fettish.
All the images were shot on my Nikon D3s with either my 24-70 2.8 lens or 10.5 2.8 fisheye. Apart from the ceremony i was using 1600-6400iso for these pictures.
