Abi and Simon's Powdermills Hotel Wedding

As summer runs into autumn i am just catching my breath after a couple of extremely busy weekends. There is always so much to do this time of year and to add to to the workload we are busy designing and ordering new sample albums as we change things a tad for 2011 and beyond.

Abi and Simon were married at St Mary the Virgin Church at Salehurst in East Sussex. I hadn't shot at this beautiful church, a few miles north of Hastings for a number of years, so was excited to be back.

They had 8 stunning bridesmaids, our highest number of the year to look after Abi and after a lovely service the couple were greeted her pupils from the nearby Sandhurst Primary School. It was total chaos for a while outside the church door but this created plenty of emotion and exciting images.

Following the ceremony they left for one of my favourite Sussex venues, the Powdermills Hotel near Battle. Over the years i have probably covered in excess of 50 weddings there but this was my first visit of 2010.

Fortunately, after a few weeks of mixed weather we were blessed with a dry day culminating with the lighting of lanterns over the front lake.

Here are a few favourite moments of the day.

  1. Hi Peter,

Needless to say yet another stunning set of images but I think the signing shot at this wedding is one of the best I have seen this year - imho this should be entered into award competitions as I think its a real - 'real moment' masterpiece.

    great work as always,

    ciao

  2. They say that great minds think alike... Well, almost everyone I have shown the photos to so far has picked out that signing shot as a favourite amongst many, many stunning shots. My Mum says it should be on the front of a wedding card or something!... It is indeed beautiful. Some of our guests took photos at that exact same moment in time and yet they look nothing like this, which can only be testament to your sheer skill - the composition, the light - all beautiful!

You produced so many beautiful and unique shots for us; I shall be forever buying frames for them. Thank you so much.

You captured all the little moments that added together tell the story of the most perfect day and were so professional in doing so. You were totally unobtrusive and yet every time I did notice you, you were working so hard. Simon and I were particularly bowled over by your sheer passion for your work - you made us feel like our wedding was the most important day's work you had ever done and got so excited by every single shot! From talking to you, I can tell that this enthusiasm extends to every single wedding you cover, not just ours, but thank you for making us feel so special all the same.

To anyone out there considering having Peter Prior for their wedding - do so! You will not be disappointed!

    Thanks again Peter.

    Kind regards.

    Abi and Simon Fisher
