Christmas Deadlines

Just a quick heads up to say that its not long to go until Christmas and our deadlines are fast approaching.

Our cut off for albums, parent's books, canvas and fine art prints is 12th November. After that, we will try to do our very best but will be unable to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas as all of our products are one-offs and made to order.

Our wonderful suppliers are rushed off their feet at this time of the year so please bear this in mind.

The cut off for print orders that are required in time for Christmas is 11th December and again we will be happy to accept orders after this date but are unable to guarantee delivery dates.

Apart from the weddings i am covering over the Christmas period and any pre booked appointments, our office will be shut from 23rd December until Tuesday 4th January 2011. We will be checking emails from time to time, so if you have an urgent request or enquiry please email the studio on info@peterprior.com over the seasonal break.

More Kind Words

I was really pleased to receive this email from Claire and Mark who were married last month at Framfield Church and had their reception at the stunning Broyle Place.

You can read all about their wedding here.

Hi Peter,

Claire and I wanted to send you a note to say a massive 'thank you' for all of your work at our wedding at Framfield Church/Broyle Place on 18th Sept.

Having looked at the preview album via your site, we have been completely blown away. Claire and I were so caught up in the day that we didn't get a chance to actually take a step back and see what was going on; your images have told the story of our day, perfectly.

From the Bride being a little bit (very) late, to an incredible best man's speech, you have captured everything and more. Perhaps it was a combination of the fact that you blended into our day without obtrusion, or that you simply saw what we didn't see - either way, we are both delighted.

We cannot wait to see our final album, and are so happy that you were there to let us enjoy, capture and add so much to the most perfect day of our lives. Without you, we would have missed so much. Thank you, from the two of us. If a Christening becons, you will be first point of call.

With all our love

Mark and Claire

Emily Rose's Baptism

I was privileged to be asked to photograph the Baptism of baby Emily Rose yesterday.

I had photographer the wedding of Emily's parents, Louise (my cousin) and Jamie a couple of years ago and was delighted to be able to document another important point in their lives.

The Baptism was held at St John's Church in Polegate and took place in front of a packed congregation. Following the service we moved back to the Red Lion Pub at Stone Cross for a reception.

Here are a couple of my favourite images. I had to shoot the ceremony from my pew with the rest of the family.

Sussex Portraits: Amelia and Friends

My daughter, Amelia has been pestering me for a while to take some cool portraits of her and some friends.

So i finally had a window where i could spend an hour with them at a weekend and took them off to a lane in Stone Cross to see them at their best (or worse depending on your view).

Here are a few favourite images, some of which have been treated to my Photoshop treatment.

Paul Smith: Toastmaster

An often overlooked option for your wedding day is a Toastmaster. I only recommend a couple of toastmasters that I've worked extensively with over the years, but a good one is worth their weight in gold.

Peter Prior; Art Visage

Paul Smith is not your usual image of the traditional stuffy toastmaster. In fact he is far from it. A qualified member of the Guild of London Toastmasters, Paul has a supreme blend of professionalism, humour and being a genuine human being.

His relaxed outward demeanour, disguises an unparalleled eye for detail, meaning that he takes all the pressure off of you, your venue and even your photographer.

I love working with Paul and the "behind the scenes" banter really adds to any wedding.

To find out more please visit Paul's website.

Fiona Hosford: Harpist Extraordinaire

Fiona Hosford is a very special harpist.

I have worked with her covering weddings for over 12 years and i have to say that Fiona is a breath of fresh air. Not only extremely talented, she has an amazing personality, and is always upbeat and full of fun; in short she is a real person!

Photobucket

Fiona's repertoire ranges from Classical music, the Beatles, through to Light Jazz and popular Modern Classics. Whether it's Pachelbel, Puccini or Elton John, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, The A-Team or Star Trek, Fiona will delight you and your guests with her magnetic personality and harp playing.

She is always flexible and will cater for every musical taste and is happy to incorporate any special requests into her performance. If you need a harpist for your wedding, Fiona is happy to play at one of a variety of times throughout the day.

Claire and Mark's wedding at Broyle Place, East Sussex

At last a completely dry wedding day!

Claire and Mark were married at Framfield Church near Uckfield in East Sussex. The church itself is rather beautiful and this was the first time i had worked there for about 10 years.

Following our bride's late arrival, we made our way across to the gorgeous Broyle Place, a hidden gem near Ringmer.

The autumn sunshine meant that everyone enjoyed a drinks reception outside on the lawn and by the ponds and i managed to grab a few images of mark and Claire together as well as their requested family shots, without too much fuss.

The catering and marquee were once again provided by the superb Super Event. I have to say the food and hog roast were sublime!

Here are a few favourite shots from the day.
