MPA South East Wedding Photographer of the Year!

WOW!!

I can't believe that i have just be awarded the title of the Master Photographers Association South East Region's Wedding Photography of the Year 2010.

To be honest i am in total shock as although i have been fortunate to win many awards throughout my career, the standard of the entires has risen dramatically over recent years, which makes this accolade even more exciting.

I wasn't able to attend the awards evening on Monday in person due to working on a wedding in Kent, so it was a great way to start the day yesterday, fielding kind phone calls, texts and emails from my peers and friends who had seen the results first hand.

In addition to winning Wedding Photographer of the Year, i also won Reportage Wedding Photographer of the Year and a Merit in the the category as well as an Award of Excellence for one of my Commercial images (the highest graded image in the category) and a Merit in the Events category.

Here are just a few overwhelming comments i have received on my Facebook page

Its been a great start to the week, and the images are posted below. if you want to see my work close up and first hand i am attending the Wedding Open House at the Powdermills Hotel, near Battle as a preferred supplier next Thursday 15th July (4-9pm).

This image of a stunning Harley-Davidson V-Rod customised by Shaw Speed Shop gained me an Award of Excellence, the highest scoring image in the category.

This image shot at a very cold January wedding at twilight, gained me a merit in the Reportage Wedding Photography category.

This recent image shot at the British Moto GP at Silverstone of Scott Redding, gained me a Merit in the Events catagory.

And finally this image shot at a wedding near Guildford in the height of winter gained me the title of MPA SE Wedding Photographer of the Year. I loved this image as soon as i captured the moment. The blue is the "natural" colour temperature as it was a bitterly cold day.

Its all about the moment, tension, excitement and atmosphere just as Holly arrived at church. It still gives me goosebumps every time i look at it. and for one of my all time favourite images to win is an amazing feeling!

Winner MPA SE Region Wedding Photographer of the Year
